This weeks comments and emails on hypnotherapy have been great, I would like to go a little deeper into the benefits of hypnotherapy on the mind and body.
It all really starts with your core belief system, what you believe about yourself and your abilities to succeed, at really anything, but for the purpose of this blog I will stay with weight loss. There are some people who just don't think that they will ever be a healthy weight. These people have tried diet after diet with some good results, but living with constant attention on anything causes stress and stress raises your cortical hormone, and that makes you hold on to fat. We can can see that what you think and stress about can work against you in getting and keeping a healthy weight. With hypnotherapy your therapist will guide you into a state of very deep relaxation, during this process we speak directly to the subconscious mind which has become open and receptive to new beliefs and ideas. When we bypass the conscious critical mind there are no objections to creating our desired self, your true you is given the opportunity to take root and flourish. It really can be an empowering experience most people are happy to rid themselves of limiting and often harmful thoughts and replace them with their new design of how they want to be.
